So in other words, there are 2 user accounts on his computer.
I'm referring to the actual Windows user account. Incredulously, I have found that if I log into my Windows 7 user account on his computer and try running Synergy, it works! And to be clear, Steam is still logging into his account.
I checked task manager, and hl2.exe isn't running or anything like that. The problem is that whenever he tries to run a Half-Life 2 mod called Synergy (a co-op mod), the screen flashes white and then nothing happens.
I installed all of the most-recent drivers, and everything seems to be working great.
